Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Selections for breakfast include huge scratch pancakes, french toast made with thick Texas bread, selection of omelets and farm fresh eggs cooked to order.  All omelet and egg dishes are served with a choice of grits or home fries, a biscuit and our signature sawmill gravy.  Breakfast meats include center cut Alexander Farms country ham, bacon, sausage, city ham or liver mush.  All customers are initially greeted with a basket of hot homemade biscuits.  Our scratch made Applebutter and molasses is available on the table.  The breakfast is definitely a down on the farm country breakfast.  The Moose Cafe breakfast has been voted the best in Western North Carolina for years by the readers of the Asheville Citizen Times.

For lunch, farm fresh vegetables are the calling card, our hand peeled real mashed potatoes are the customer's favorite.  Vendors on the market are utilized to select just picked local produce.  The ten vegetables listed on the menu are items that are available year round.  At least two additional vegetable specials are offered each day.  Special items include: fried green tomatoes, local corn on the cob, baked onion, watermelon, sliced fresh yellow tomatoes, baked squash, grilled local vegetables, squash casserole, spinach casserole, fresh fruit salad, fried okra and fried squash.  The kitchen team goes down on the market and acquires the freshest local vegetables.

Lunch entrees include all your country favorites: southern fried chicken, grandma's meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and buttermilk fried chicken breast.  The lunch menu also contains a wide selection of sandwiches and salads.  The hamburgers are hand formed using fresh ground meat, no frozen patties at the Moose Cafe.  Sandwiches are served with French fries, lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle.  In addition to menu items, two specials are offfered on a daily basis.  The specials provide an opportunity to feature fresh products that are local favorites.  The Sunday lunch offering is designed to be reminiscent of Sunday Supper at Grandma's house.  Feature items include turkey and dressing, roast pork and dressing, baked ham and roast beef.  customers for lunch are greeted with a basket of hot homemade biscuits.  All entrees are served with our signature cornbread muffins.

The dinner menu is the same as the lunch menu with the addition of an after 4:00pm section.  Ths section includes a sirloin steak, fried catfish, shrimp and flounder.  Smoked baby back ribs are our signature item for the dinner meal period.  Friday and Saturday nights also feature All U Can Eat specials.
